OUR HISTORY

The Lakeview County Club golf course is in Loda, IL. Loda is one of the best kept secrets in the Central Mid‐West. This pleasant little village has a population of about 346. However, Bayles Lake and Iroquois Lake have an additional 501 household surrounding their banks. Loda is located just off Interstate 57, surrounded by corn and soybean fields. However, to drive into Loda, you must use either the Buckley or Paxton exit from Interstate 57 and then travel about 5 miles to Loda on Highway 45.

At one point in time, Loda had a population of almost 1663 citizens. Some would say that Adam Smith was the father of the Village. However, after Mr. Smith determined that Loda was not going to pay off financially, he moved on. Addison Goodell purchased the Adam Smith home in 1872. He and his sons tend to receive a lot of credit for Loda’s longevity.
